Multi club BBQ (Kirk Lund Memorial BBQ)

On Saturday August 24th the park hosted the first multi club BBQ.  The event was a success with good food and many laughs.  It has been decided to make this an annual event and to name it “The Kirk Lund Memorial BBQ”.  Everybody is encouraged to attend this annual event as it provides a chance to connect and reconnect with old and new friends, it was a lot of fun.

In memory of Kirk Lund

On August 21, 2024 we lost Kirk Lund who passed while at Ontario Steelheaders Park.  Kirk has made significant contributions since the very early days of the Ontario Steelheaders and their efforts to improve the fishery.  He was an excellent fisherman, conservationist, volunteer and all around good guy who was always ready to lend a hand, he had a prominent presence at the park.  Kirk suffered two strokes but still fished the river as much as he could.  Kirk, you will be sadly missed.  There will be a memorial for Kirk and everybody will be advised here and on the Facebook page.

Multi Club BBQ Social Event

Hello everyone.  For the first time ever a Multi Club BBQ social event will be held at Denny’s Dam Park on August 24, 2024. The Multi Club BBQ was created to get all our sister clubs and partners together for a day of fun and food that we hope will become an annual event.  Food includes beef brisket, chicken legs/thighs, and pulled pork, all smoked by Almost Famous BBQ.  As with all our other functions donations of sides, salads and desserts are always appreciated.
